The year 2000 marked the beginning of an unstoppable journey with the opening of the doors of Leeds International School Matara, being the 1st international school established in Matara.
Our school has grown from its inception to accommodate over 700 students, in first class teaching facilities providing an education in English medium ranging from Play Group to G.C.E. Advanced Level totally based on the British Curriculum. We make sure that the students are provided with the best facilities paving the way for a friendly and comfortable learning environment.
I am honoured to state that each and every student who enters LIS Matara will be well-rounded individuals who are developed academically and spiritually with the capacity of making a positive contribution to the communities in which they live and work. This has been a reality due to the vast range of academic and co-curricular activities we provide the children with.
