Anniversary - Galle
On 2nd August 2025, Leeds International School Galle proudly celebrated its 25th Anniversary at the scenic Samanala Grounds, Galle, under the inspiring theme “Proud Past – Driven Future.” The milestone was honored with an unforgettable day filled with color, joy, and unity, reflecting the spirit of the Leeds community.
The festivities commenced with a vibrant vehicle parade, where the roads of Galle came alive with dazzling decorations, students’ smiles, and the iconic Leeds purple flags fluttering high, symbolizing 25 years of excellence. The air was filled with chants of “Leeds 25th,” resonating with pride and togetherness. Families and children enjoyed a dedicated play area, while live DJ music set the rhythm of celebration throughout the day.
As night fell, the event reached its peak with a spectacular drone display and breathtaking fireworks show, painting the Galle skies in a dazzling symphony of lights. These moments left the crowd in awe, marking the perfect tribute to the school’s journey of growth and achievement.
The celebration was graced by the presence of Dr. Sarath Jayatissa, Chairman of Leeds International Schools Network, along with Deputy Chairperson Mrs. Malithi Jayatissa, the Board of Directors, the Principal of Leeds Galle branch, teachers, staff, students, past pupils, well-wishers and devoted parents. Their collective presence made the occasion a true family gathering of the Leeds community.
This 25th Anniversary was not only a look back at a proud legacy but also a promise of a future driven by passion, innovation, and excellence.
