LEEDS International School offers globally oriented, culturally rooted English medium education—bridging

Founding & Early Vision
LEEDS International School was established on August 23, 1999, in Panadura by Dr. Sarath Jayatissa with a clear vision: to provide education that is "Futuristic and Global in Outlook with Religion and Culture as a Firm Foundation." The school aimed to fill a critical gap in Sri Lanka's educational landscape by offering quality English medium education that maintained cultural relevance and accessibility.

Key Milestones in Our Growth
2000: First Expansion

- Established Matara branch with just six teachers
- Opened Galle branch as the first international school in the district with 38 students
2008-2011: Steady Development

- Founded Horana branch (January 2008) with five students
- Established Ambalangoda branch (December 2008) with 59 students
- Opened Matugama branch (2011) with 61 students
2015-2019: Strategic Expansion

- Ventured into Hambantota District with Tangalle branch (2015)
- Established first Colombo district branch in Piliyandala (2016)
- Opened Bandaragama branch (2019)
2020-Present: Innovation & Resilience

- Successfully navigated the pandemic with comprehensive virtual education
- Launched Maharagama branch despite of global Covid 19 challenge (2020)
- Added four new branches in 2023: Malabe, Tissamaharama, Homagama and Maggona
- Opened LEEDS Premier Preschool and After care ( 2024)
- Opened newest branch in Embilipitiya (2025)
