It’s my pleasure to welcome you to LEEDS International School, Piliyandala branch a place where learning begins with love, laughter, and discovery. As the headmistress, I am honored to lead a preschool and Primary 1 & 2 classes that nurtures the curiosity, creativity, and joy of every young learner who walks through our doors.
At LEEDS we believe early childhood is a magical time filled with wonder. Our experienced and caring educators create a safe and stimulating environment where children can explore, play, and grow at their own pace. Through hands-on activities, imaginative play, music, stories, science and sports we help lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.
We recognize that families are a child’s first teachers, and we value strong partnerships with parents. Together, we can provide the support, encouragement, and guidance every child needs to flourish.

Founding and Development
Founding and Development
LEEDS International School Piliyandala was established in 2016, initially as a preschool, marking LEEDS’ expansion into the Colombo district. The school began with a small group of students and a vision to provide quality early childhood education following the LEEDS standard of excellence. As the school’s reputation grew within the community, so did demand for expanded educational offerings. In 2023, responding to parent requests and community needs, LEEDS Piliyandala expanded its program to include primary classes, allowing students to continue their educational journey within the LEEDS system beyond preschool years.
Our Branch Today
Today, LEEDS International School Piliyandala serves nearly 200 students with a team of 20 dedicated teachers. The school offers education from Play Group through Primary, providing a strong foundation for early and elementary education. Our School creates a warm, welcoming environment specifically designed for younger students, with age-appropriate facilities and learning spaces. Piliyandala branch combines the established LEEDS educational philosophy with fresh, innovative approaches to early childhood and primary education.

Early Years Program
Our Play Group and Kindergarten curriculum follows a play-based approach incorporating elements of Montessori and thematic learning. The program focuses on developing language skills, foundational numeracy, motor skills, creativity, and social-emotional development through engaging, hands-on activities.
Primary Education
Our newly expanded primary program builds on the early years foundation, providing a structured yet creative approach to core subjects including Mathematics, English, Science, Sinhala, and ICT. The curriculum is designed to foster a love of learning while developing essential academic skills. In keeping with global educational trends, we have also introduced Robotics and Mindfulness to support holistic development and future-ready learning
