Welcome to Leeds International School, Bandaragama—part of Sri Lanka’s largest international school network. Rooted in Sri Lankan values and high standards of discipline, we nurture students to develop essential 21st-century skills within a vibrant, forward-thinking community.
Over the past five years, Leeds Bandaragama has achieved significant growth in academics, infrastructure, co-curricular activities, and student well-being, thanks to the dedication of our staff, students, and parents. Guided by our motto, “Strive for Excellence,” we see excellence not just as a goal but as a daily mindset that shapes teaching, learning, and relationships.

Our History & Profile
Founding and Development
LEEDS International School Bandaragama was established in May 2019, beginning its journey with just two students and three teachers. The school was founded to bring quality early childhood and primary education to the Bandaragama community.
Despite its modest beginnings, the school quickly gained recognition for its commitment to educational excellence and nurturing approach. This led to rapid growth in enrollment, necessitating expansion of both facilities and staff to accommodate the increasing student population.
Our Branch Today
Today, LEEDS International School Bandaragama has flourished, serving over 300 students with a dedicated team of 27 teachers. The school has expanded into two three-story buildings with over 30 classrooms, offering education from Play Group to Primary 4 students.
Our modern School creates an ideal learning environment for young children, with age-appropriate facilities and resources., Bandaragama combines LEEDS’ established educational philosophy with fresh approaches to early childhood and primary education, creating a dynamic learning community that continues to grow and evolve.

Curriculum
Early Years Program
Our Play Group and Kindergarten curriculum follows a play-based approach incorporating elements of AMI techniques and thematic learning. The program focuses on developing language skills, foundational numeracy, motor skills, creativity, and social-emotional development through engaging, hands-on activities.
Primary Education
Our developing Primary Programme builds strong foundations in key subjects, including Mathematics, English, Science, Sinhala, and ICT, complemented by Art, Physical Education, and Environmental Studies. In keeping with global educational trends, we have also introduced Robotics and Mindfulness to support holistic development and future-ready learning..
