Dr. Sarath Jayatissa  

Founder & Chairman

Dr. Sarath Jayatissa is a visionary educational leader with over 25 years of experience in shaping young minds across Sri Lanka. As Chairman of Leeds International School's network of 16 branches and Leeds Campus of Business and Technology, he combines academic excellence with hands-on leadership.

A University of Ruhuna graduate and former Sri Lanka Navy officer, Dr. Jayatissa's diverse background spans naval service as a Lieutenant protecting Sri Lanka's northern waters to commanding merchant vessels across 28 countries. His global outlook enriches our curriculum, bringing world-class educational standards to every classroom.

Recognized nationally and internationally, Dr. Jayatissa holds an Honorary Doctorate in Education (2005), the prestigious "Deshamanya" title, and the "Shasana Sewa Keerthi" honor for community service. He was awarded an honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration from Maryland State University and received the "Inspirational Leadership Award" at the 2024 World School Summit in Dubai.

Under his guidance, Leeds International School continues to inspire generations of students, fostering not just academic achievement but the values of integrity, innovation, and global citizenship that define our institution.

Mrs. Malithi Jayatissa  

Deputy Chairperson

Mrs. Malithi Jayatissa brings extensive expertise in business management and human resources to her role as Deputy Chairperson. After completing both her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Swinburne University of Technology, she joined Leeds International School in 2010, where she has played a pivotal role in the network's expansion and operational excellence.

From 2017 to 2023, Mrs. Jayatissa served as the General Secretary of The International School of Sri Lanka (TISSL), an association of 25 premier international schools in the country. During her tenure, she spearheaded initiatives to enhance the quality of international education in Sri Lanka and established collaborative partnerships among member schools. She oversees all branches of Leeds International School, focusing on maintaining consistent educational standards and implementing innovative approaches to teaching and learning.

Mrs. Hemamala Jayatissa brings a strong scientific background and educational expertise to Leeds International School. Holding an Honours Degree in Science from the University of Ruhuna and specialized training in Limnology from Austria, she draws on her academic and professional experience to provide valuable insights that support the enhancement and development of the school curriculum. Her Diploma in Education from the Open University of Sri Lanka further enhanced her pedagogical skills. As Directress, Mrs. Jayatissa has been instrumental in developing LEEDS' science curriculum, establishing well-equipped laboratories across all branches, and initiating environmental education initiatives that have become a hallmark of the Leeds experience. Her dedication to maintaining academic rigor while fostering a love for scientific inquiry has significantly contributed to the school's reputation for excellence in science education

Ms. Kinithi Jayatissa

Miss. Kinithi Jayatissa is a holder of the BCS, Professional Graduate Diploma in IT and having completed up to Managerial level of CIMA, she pursued further studies at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia. She graduated with a Bachelor of Business in Management and a Master of Business, in Human Resource Management. She has experience working in a bank in Australia and has over 13 years of experience in Education, as a Director of Leeds International School and Leeds Campus of Business and Technology. She headed Examinations and Assessment at Leeds International School and is involved in the managerial activities of the Leeds Group. She has headed the BTEC programs at Leeds Campus of Business and Technology. She is also a mindfulness practitioner and facilitator, lecturer of Human Resource Management and a Personal and Professional Development trainer

Following his comprehensive education at Swinburne University of Technology, he worked in the technology sector for several years before joining the Leeds team. As Director, Mr. Diyagama plays a pivotal role in the leadership and management of the Leeds International School network. As a trusted and dependable figure, he serves as the primary support to the Chairman, assisting in overseeing all operations across the entire school network. With his hands-on approach, strategic thinking, and deep commitment to excellence, Mr. Diyagama ensures the smooth functioning of administrative, academic, and operational processes. His dedication and leadership continue to contribute significantly to the growth and success of the institution.
