It is with immense pride and purpose that we mark the beginning of Leeds International School – Embilipitiya launched on 9th January 2025, our institution was founded on the vision of providing affordable, high-quality English medium education-cultivating young minds to become global citizens who lead with empathy, innovation and integrity.

Our History & Profile
Founding and Development
LEEDS International School Embilipitiya was established in 2025 as the 16th branch in the LEEDS network, representing the most recent expansion of the LEEDS educational philosophy to new communities. The branch was founded in response to growing demand for quality international education in the Sabaragamuwa Province, bringing the LEEDS standard of excellence to this region.
As the newest member of the LEEDS family, Embilipitiya branch combines the established LEEDS approach with fresh perspectives, creating an educational environment that meets the specific needs of the local community while maintaining consistent standards with the wider network.
Our Branch Today
As a newly established branch, LEEDS International School Embilipitiya is in its foundational phase with 74 students, focusing on building a strong educational community from the ground up. The school currently offers education for early years and primary levels, with plans for gradual expansion as the student population grows.
Our growing branch provides a conducive learning environment with appropriately equipped facilities. Led by a team of qualified teachers committed to the LEEDS philosophy, the branch is establishing itself as a center for quality education in the Embilipitiya region, with a focus on building strong foundations for future growth and development.

Early Years Program
Our Play Group and Kindergarten curriculum follows the LEEDS play-based approach, integrating AMI techniques and thematic learning to nurture early childhood development by fostering foundational cognitive, social, emotional, and communication skills in a supportive and stimulating environment.
Primary Education
Our developing Primary Program builds strong foundations in key subjects, including Mathematics, English, Science, Sinhala, and ICT, complemented by Art, Physical Education, and Environmental Studies. In keeping with global educational trends, we have also introduced Robotics and Mindfulness to support holistic development and future-ready learning.
