Leeds International School Launches Pearson Edexcel iPrimary Curriculum
A New Chapter in Global Education
Leeds International School is proud to announce a major milestone in its academic journey—the official introduction of the globally recognized Pearson Edexcel iPrimary curriculum. Beginning from the 2025/2026 academic year, this prestigious curriculum will be implemented for students from Primary 1 to Form 1, setting a new benchmark in international education across all Leeds branches.
The official launch ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 8th July 2025 at 4:30 PM, at the Leeds International School auditorium, Panadura, and promises to be an inspiring event that marks the beginning of an exciting educational transformation.
Gracing the occasion as Chief Guest will be Ms. Emma Whale, Vice President, International, Pearson, whose presence underscores the significance of this partnership. She will be joined by Ms. Premila Paulraj, Director of Market Growth, Pearson South Asia, alongside Dr. Sarath Jayathissa, Chairman of Leeds International School and the Board of Directors, who have played a visionary role in steering this initiative.
The iPrimary programme is a world-class curriculum developed by Pearson Edexcel (UK), designed to equip learners with 21st-century skills and a globally benchmarked academic foundation. Initially, Leeds International School will introduce three core subjects—English, Mathematics, and Science, paving the way for a robust academic framework that emphasizes conceptual understanding, inquiry-based learning, and international relevance.
By adopting this curriculum, Leeds becomes a part of a worldwide network of forward-thinking institutions committed to delivering excellence in education. The first cohort of students under this curriculum will sit for the Pearson Edexcel iPrimary Achievement Tests in May 2026, marking their entry into globally recognized academic pathways.
