Founding and Development
LEEDS International School Panadura was founded on August 23, 1999, as the visionary initiative of Dr. Sarath Jayatissa. As the flagship institution of the LEEDS network, Panadura laid the cornerstone for what would grow into a thriving network of 16 schools across Sri Lanka. What began as a school with a modest student body was driven by a bold mission—to deliver high-quality English medium education that remained culturally rooted and accessible to all.
From the outset, LEEDS Panadura set itself apart by blending international educational standards with Sri Lankan values, creating a unique model that resonated with families seeking both academic excellence and cultural relevance. The resounding success of this approach propelled the school’s rapid development and paved the way for the island-wide expansion of the LEEDS International School network.
Our Branch Today
Today, LEEDS International School Panadura serves as the flagship School and central operations hub for the entire LEEDS network. With a student population of over 900 and more than 80 dedicated staff members, our School buzzes with academic and extracurricular activity.
As the most comprehensive LEEDS branch, we offer education from Play Group through Advanced Level, with students preparing for both Edexcel International examinations and National curriculum examinations in English medium. Our central location in Panadura provides accessibility while our spacious School creates an ideal learning environment.

Early Years Program
Our Play Group and Kindergarten curriculum follows a play-based approach incorporating AMI techniques and thematic learning, fostering early development in a nurturing environment.
Primary Education
