Principal's Message

Principal’s welcome Message

Dear Parents, Students, and Well-Wishers,

It is with immense pride and pleasure that I welcome you to Leeds International School – Kottawa, a new chapter in the Leeds International School family and a place where we look forward to nurturing young minds, inspiring curiosity, and building confident individuals for the future.

At Leeds Kottawa, our vision is to provide a holistic, high-quality international education in a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment. We cater to students from Preschool to Advanced Level (A/L), providing them with opportunities to develop academically, socially, creatively, and physically throughout their educational journey.

Our school follows the Edexcel curriculum, with students having the opportunity to sit for Edexcel Primary, IGCSE, and International Advanced Level (IAL) examinations. We also provide opportunities for students to pursue Cambridge examinations, giving them access to internationally recognised qualifications and pathways for higher education.

Education at Leeds Kottawa extends beyond the classroom. We believe that every child has unique talents and interests, and therefore we provide opportunities in areas such as Robotics, Sports, creative activities, and other co-curricular programmes. Our aim is to encourage students to explore their abilities, develop teamwork and leadership skills, and become independent and responsible learners.

Our school has been thoughtfully designed to create a comfortable and engaging learning environment. We offer spacious classrooms, dedicated play areas for young children, a school ground, day-care facilities, a bookshop, a canteen, and convenient parking facilities for parents. Our conference room, equipped with Smart Board technology, further supports modern teaching and learning approaches.

We are also in the process of developing our auditorium, science laboratories, and library, which will further enhance the learning experiences and opportunities available to our students.

At the heart of our school is our greatest strength — our teachers. Our qualified and experienced educators are committed to understanding every child, supporting their individual needs, and creating meaningful learning experiences. We believe that education is most effective when teachers, students, and parents work together as a strong community.

The Administrative Office of Leeds International School – Kottawa officially opened on 15th July 2026, marking the beginning of this exciting journey. We were delighted to welcome families to our first Admission Open Day on 6th September 2026, and we are honoured to begin our journey with almost 100 students.

Our Grand Opening Ceremony will be held on 10th September 2026, marking an important milestone for Leeds Kottawa.

As we begin this journey, I look forward to building a school community where every child feels valued, every talent is encouraged, and every student is inspired to learn, grow, lead, and achieve.

I warmly welcome you to the Leeds International School – Kottawa family. Together, let us create an educational journey filled with knowledge, discovery, confidence, and success.

Welcome to Leeds Kottawa — where every child has the opportunity to shine.

Warm regards,

K. K. Isuru Avinda
